As a mixed media artist my art is best categorized as Pop-Surrealism. I work towards merging different fine art mediums, breaking away from the limiting categories of academy style. I focus on play and the narrative line between truth and fiction. I find much of my inspiration comes from found objects, and folklore, using appropriation and the reconfiguring of iconic images along with a bright palette to create my stage. Self-Masturbatory, my work tells its story through allegory taken from personal experiences. I respect the haphazard aspects of making art and I let each piece speak for its self. I enjoy making work that embraces mixed media practices in ways that create a balance in the materials and an illusion in the construction of the work. Using allegories my stage creates an environment in which I tell a story or dramatize a feeling about the reality of the world, as I know it, and how that reality affects my life.
